A little bit about John Arena:

The New York, North Jersey region of the US has placed its own personal stamp on pizza.  Although it is considerably different than the beloved and sublime wood-fired Napolitano style pizza, it has grown to be internationally predominant.  For those of us who grew up in the NY metropolitan area, to bite into a correctly made, slow-baked thin or sicilian slice, can bring on a flood of memories that fills us with more comfort than Mom’s meatloaf or Thanksgiving turkey with a well made stuffing.  When the decision was made to add pizza to the menu at our new Enoteca La Storia, we knew we had to find the right guy.

John started making pizza in his family’s pizzeria in New York with his cousin and business partner to this day, when he was 13.  The cousins moved to Las Vegas in 1980 and built a mini empire around the true NY style pizza.  He is so infectiously passionate about “elevating pizza awareness” that he “teaches a first-of-its-kind hospitality industry class in which UNLV students collaborate on developing a pizzeria concept” - and of course helps guys like us make true NY style pizza.  John is not only an artisan but a genuinely humble man who wants everyone who he touches to do well.  He is respected internationally for his dedication and talent.

Arrivederci!
