This wine is inky ruby with enticing aromas of dark plum, spices and herbs. It's rich and ripe in the mouth, with the black fruit, flint and herb flavors nicely supported by youthfully chewy tannins. Finishes clean, savory and moderately long.
The winemaking process begins with a three day mixing in stainless steels tanks at controlled temperature of 28°C and 2 weeks of maceration on the skins. After racking and malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 6 months and then bottled and aged for at least 6 months before release.
Montepulciano is the ultimate burger wine! It will cut through some of the meatiest meats (like beef brisket) and pair nicely alongside roasted vegetables. Try it with beef burgers with mushrooms, pasta Bolognese, beef tacos, meatloaf, Meat Lover’s pizza and even with macaroni & cheese or stuffed baked potatoes.
